Femisphere is more than a film — it’s an emotional experiment in motion. Directed by Florian Reittner and shaped visually by cinematographer Vincent Eckert. The project transforms extreme creative and logistical pressure into an intense, human, and atmospheric piece of filmmaking.
Two Days, Seventeen Scenes, and a Crew of 200
The entire project was executed in just two shooting days. It covered 17 scenes with three Sony cameras and a crew that peaked at 200 people, including 40 dedicated to special effects.
Some sequences demanded up to 15 different setups. This pushed the team into a constant cycle of building, shooting, and resetting — all at breakneck speed.
Constructing a World from Nothing: The Rain Sequence
One of the most challenging scenes required a “lived-in” street — but the real location was completely deserted, dark, and without existing light.
The crew had to bring 150 meters of urban environment to life artificially. They relied heavily on lighting, practical effects, and a precisely controlled SFX rain system. The rain didn’t just add atmosphere — it concealed the empty surroundings and amplified the emotional contrast within the protagonist’s internal journey.

A Fast, Flexible Cinematographic Approach
To maintain the pace, Vincent Eckert leaned on Sony’s Dual ISO (12,800), allowing the team to avoid heavy lighting setups.
Paired with Sony G-Master zooms (24–70mm, 70–200mm), the cinematography remained fluid, fast, and responsive to the intense schedule.

On-the-Ground Intensity: Pre-Production and Set Challenges
The shoot took place in Greater Noida, New Delhi, preceded by two demanding weeks of pre-production.
The team tested fabrics, experimented with fake blood viscosity, smashed mirrors, ran flammability tests, and hustled for every resource needed.
Director Florian Reittner describes the experience:
“The shoot itself went by in a crazed haze of intense moments. Very little time, very hot weather, so many people and an abundance of unique challenges. After each of the two days of shooting, my soul was full to the brim and my head was empty as a steel drum. It still feels like a blaze. And I still wonder how we made it all work.”
Awards & Recognition
Femisphere premiered at the Telly Awards, where it won Gold in 2025. It was also featured at Berlin Commercial, marking its strong creative impact.
