Hey community! January is officially the month of fresh starts, and our community wasted no time hitting the ground running. As the industry gears up for a new year of storytelling and tech breakthroughs, our Instagram feed has been a masterclass in pure creativity.

We’ve curated the best of the best to kick off the year. Here are the 5 posts that set the FilmmakersWorld community on fire this January. Get ready to be inspired; the bar has officially been raised.

1. The mirror knows

Elie Khater, creative director, shares the process behind his latest project: a one-shot teaser for the TV series Bel Haram. The teaser uses mirrors as active observers, creating a complex visual and psychological experience.

Between vision and reality, over 50 people worked behind this magic, countless cues given, and every second counted.

2. High-Speed Dakar FPV with Carlos Sainz

This post takes us along for the ride with racing legend Carlos Sainz in his Ford Racing beast during the Dakar Rally, captured by the exceptionally skilled drone operator Ivan Merino x Red Bull España.

To pull off this crazy experience, Ivan pushed his custom FPV gear to the limit, navigating a complex lap through buildings and under tunnels. Utilizing a DJI Action 6 mounted on an iFlight Chimera 5-inch frame, the execution required flawless signal management and nerves of steel to keep up with the pace of the Dakar.

A raw, high-speed demonstration of how FPV technology is revolutionizing sports cinematography.

3. Mastering the Grip: The 54th Division Gripping in Action

Behind every iconic camera move is a team of specialists solving impossible problems.

It’s a raw, fascinating montage of set life—building custom rigs, managing complex setups, and providing the structural backbone for every movement. This is a true celebration of the grip department’s craftsmanship and the relentless work that goes into supporting the DP’s and Director’s vision.

4. Practical Magic: CUPRA “No Drivers”.

Nono Ayuso’s latest work for CUPRA is a masterclass in high-stakes execution. One of the most talked-about moments involves a stunt performer literally breaking through a wall—a sequence achieved entirely practically after extensive material testing for safety and realism.

A vivid reminder that no matter how far VFX comes, the physical impact of practical stunts remains unmatched.

5. Robotic Precision: Under Armour x Mansory

Closing out our January highlights is a high-octane sneak peek from the set of Under Armour x Mansory, featuring football stars Achraf Hakimi and Toni Rüdiger. This production is a flawless example of “motion becoming language.”

The secret sauce here is the cutting-edge work from Cinemotion Robotics, utilizing advanced motion control to achieve repetitive, pixel-perfect timing that manual operating simply can’t match.

Which one of these inspired you the most to pick up your camera this month?

January ’26 has proven once again that while gear like FPV drones and motion control robotics continues to evolve, the true heartbeat of the industry remains the vision of the filmmaker and the tireless grit of the crew behind the scenes.
